CRANBORNE CONSOLES MUSHAMBI FAMILIES
Cranborners on Sunday went out in full throttle to support the bereaved families of Mr Joseph Mushambi and Mrs Vimbai Mushambi in seperate funerals held in Mutare and Mhondoro.
Former lay leader and current Stewardship and Temperance Chairperson both at circuit and district level, Mr Joseph Mushambi lost his mother Mrs Jane Mushambi who lost her valiant battle with diabetes at the age of 82.
Mbuya Mushambi passed away on 9 May 2019 in Mutare and was laid to rest at Matanda Village, Bocha on Sunday with scores of Cranborners, led by Reverend Noah Chikuni and Lay leader Mrs Florence Mapenzauswa and district officials in attendance.
Mushambi, who is the last born in a family of 10, paid glowing tribute to his mother for being a good fighter, battling diabetes for 14 years, adding that she has left a legacy of fearing God in the family, something they will carry on.
Rev Sigauke gave the keynote message imploring on Christians to invest their lives in Christ in their lifetime for in Christ there is everlasting life even after death.
In Mhondoro, scores of Cranborners went to pay their last respects to Sekuru Lovemore Sigudu who passed away at the age of 84.
Sigudu is father to Mrs Vimbai Mushambi and father in law to Associate Audit Chairperson Mr Watson Mushambi.
Pastor Ellen Gova and Associate Layleader Mr Tinei Mwakutuya led the Cranborne contingent.
It was indeed a dark Sunday with set circuit events having to give way to allow Cranborne to be with their own in their most difficult times.
Pictures of both funerals are available on the Cranborne United Methodist Church Facebook page.
May their souls rest in peace.
