Vimbainashe Saburi and Terrence Zhungu

The October of weddings kicked off in the most spectacular of ways as Terrence Zhungu and Vimbainashe Saburi staged one wedding for the history books at Spey Bank in Ruwa on Saturday.

The two lovebirds really put paid to the anxiety and the celebratory atmosphere with a classic union, which exuded massive planning, glitz and glamour.

Vimbai arrived in a boat, accompanied by her maid of honour, her sister Shamiso with Terrence waiting in awe in one of the most telling scripts of the entire wedding.

The bridal team was immaculately dressed they literally brought the whole wardrobe to the party and the dance moves thereafter were choreographed to perfection.

Amidst great ululation, Retired Reverend Maxwell Chambara officiated at the wedding, counselling the newly weds on the importance of using the time in marriage wisely.

Relatives and friends came out for the big day in different colours and shades making for a colourful event.

The Cranborne Young Couples Choir belted many sing along tunes in sync with the occasion.

Emotions got the better of Vimbai at the reception as the Cranborne youth staged their traditional send off medley featuring the timeless classic Zangalewa and Chidzoka by Rocqui as she broke into tears, reality dawning on the transition from the youth into the marriage institution.

The district youth led by president Tariro Dandara was present too with Terrence having being part of the fashion and fabric of the organisation for many years, serving in various capacities at circuit and district level.

In a October which can be dubbed “White October” for Cranborne with a triple dose of weddings lined up, this was indeed an epic start to the merry month.
